If you provide services to children and young people you will want them to contribute to decision making. Viewpoint gives you a direct line to their views and attitudes. It is a computer based methodology developed to support the participation of children and young people in decision making. The Viewpoint Information System is an internet based methodology specifically designed to engage children and young people and help them to share their views, opinions wishes and feelings. The methodology, Viewpoint ACASI (audio computer assisted self interviewing) has been shown through research to be particularly effective with children and young people demonstrating an increased disclosure of sensitive information and aiding literacy difficulties.



Young people answer questions in an engaging dialogue with animated cartoon assistants. Young people tell us that it is easy for them to say exactly what they mean even about sensitive topics, and that it is, in some ways, better than talking to an adult or even a friend.

In an independent study of young people using Viewpoint: 90% said it helped them think more clearly 95% enjoyed using Viewpoint to record their views and feelings 93% said it was a good way to get people to hear what they thought

Reports can be produced whenever they are needed. Data collected with the Viewpoint System can be displayed immediately in a variety of formats using Viewpoint Analysis. Individual reports; frequency reports; and charts are available. Different report formats are easily set up.
Reports may be produced to inform individual case planning or review or to inform service developments and planning. Data from individual reports can be aggregated to provide reports from groups of participants and large scale surveys can be reported on without any burdensome collation.
